ABOUT

Spectral explores light, colour and perception through the decomposition of light, its visible and invisible spectrum and optical phenomena. The works approach colour, luminous vibration and space as elements of a continuously changing perceptual experience.

LAb[au], statement :

Traditionally, painting is grounded in the visible spectrum of light, conceiving color as a material perceptible to the eye. Yet this spectrum extends far beyond what we can see. Can infrared, ultraviolet, or even radio-luminescence be integrated into an expanded vision of painting? Through a series of monochromes, LAb[au] explores a painting of the invisible. Their works examine color both as a phenomenon and as a medium for thought, reaching beyond the traditional boundaries of the immaterial and the transcendent.
