history
2007 - The concept for a reactive light and sound installation was originally conceived in 2007, in the context of a competition for a public artwork at La Défense, Paris.
2023 - The reworked concept has been selected for the Walks and Garden Trust Commemoration competition for a public artwork at Union Station, Toronto.
2016 - the delay of the Union Station revitalisation project put holds on the project
2018 - the project is recontracted, refinanced and scheduled for the final stage of Unino Station
2023 - after the Corona pandemic the project finally is back on its completion
2025 - the installment is foreseen in october 2025
abstract
In a tunnel connecting the two entrances of Toronto's major train station, 92 arches capture the passersby's presence and trajectory while translating their motion patterns into sound and light. Accordingly, fLUX stands for the transcription of urban flows into light and music.
